To Know the unknown

Last week I got an invitation from someone whom I consider a friend. The appeal of the event was to a brown bag luncheon that would outline opportunities in the not-for-profit sector. Of course I found this intriguing not just because of the content but because of the "other" favorable circumstances that I could possibly encounter by attending. As I waddled into the event late, which I despise almost more than anything else, I was elated to discover the group had not begun. It was small and quaint, just like I like the learning environment to be. Personal, in fact and I was comfortable. After being greeted by a young lady who was membered a part of the sponsoring organization of the event I sat prepared to take copious notes.

The round table introductions were similar to me. "Let's go around the room and introduce ourselves and tell everyone why we are here today". I had participated in this exercise a million times in the corporate world, my sorority and even mentoring programs I served in.  This time was different and I knew I was going to share details with these "strangers" that may change my life entirely.

After I told my story of how I relocated here for one thing and ran into pregnancy instead the conductor congratulated me on birthing both a dream and a child. We moved on. When I heard him say "In this country, we are kinda an experiment" it shone down on me that this was no ordinary round table discussion this was just that, an experiment. One that would better me that day and force me to do a little more about my goals and desires for my life.

How could I have known that I would get something from this meeting? How is it that my inner self chose this event over a ton of others in the last couple of months. Well for one I was growing bigger by the day and my energy hadn't been up to par since I was impregnated but on this particular day I was so happy my higher self made me get dressed and go. I got several confirmations and even made some great contacts. I was pleased and it was well with my soul.

What's the duality here? When you know the unknown you are universally informed and your eternal power becomes limitless. We sometimes need to be reminded of such in the "miscellaneous" life happenings so we can move forward like the forces we are. Its knowing the unknown will greet us and serve worthy at times where we least expect it and transform into greatness when we apply ourselves.
